Arena Gaming League just announced details for their upcoming tournament called AGL Wired. The format is a 4v4 online pool play, no brackets or ladders. A total of 448 teams can participate with a 5 tier payout system. The cost to participate is $50 per person or $200 per team. If all team passes are sold out, the event will generate a total of $89,600. A single cash prize of $20,000 will be awarded for the top placing team in the event that all team passes are sold. There are no other cash prizes, however if 448 teams attend, the top 16 participating teams will be fully sponsored to attend. This includes airfare and hotel costs. Some pro players are confirmed to host the tournament and rumor has it that Ghandi will occupy the casting booth once more.

Upon sign up, you will choose 3 days your team is available to play. In those 3 days, you will also enter 3 time slots that your team is available to play. Every Sunday during the regular season, you will create your schedule for the coming week. The higher seed for a match will be able to see the lower seeded teams schedule and pick what time the higher seeded team would like to play. Teams that are the lower seed will then be able to see what time their scheduled match is. Notifications for matches will be sent to the users involved and your teams schedule will be viewable on the AGL website.

If players get host booted to black screen, the match is officially postponed and restarted. The previous score will rollover to the new match and all players will continue the game. In the event that you feel “cheating” has taken place, you can officially “wave” the match. Each team has 4 ‘waves’ to use for the course of the tournament. Referees will be in place to review any violations. If you are reported for 4 violations, you are banned from the tournament.
This tournament is taking place after AGL Orange County. So if teams are flown out to OC again, this is a different event. Just to avoid confusion.
Regular season and playoffs:
The tournament will contain a regular season and a playoff bracket. Teams will play 3 games a week during the regular season. Then, the teams that finish 1st in their city (depending on win to loss ratio) will move on to the playoff bracket.
Registration for next league: August 1
Finals: August 24 – 25th
Points will be distributed for every participant of AGL Wired. More points are given towards live events and LAN. For example, team Faded acquired 15,000 points for placing 1st at AGL, New Jersey. This places them in 5th seed for this event.
If there is a big enough demand for AGL tournaments to open in Europe, Asia and Australia, they will open it up to new regions.
